The "Winter Series" is an annual series of 6 local DFs held by the club. There is one every month for 6 months, usually between October and March inclusive.  For these events, the club uses the OS Landranger Map (1:50,000) No 109 (Greater Manchester), and the transmitter operator can hide anywhere on the map.  First Transmission is at 10am and competitors have until 12:30 to track the transmitter down.

The Winter Series has been going on for a good number of years.  We've got archived details of recent year's events complete with results and details of each transmitter location and pub.

Reports from other Local SMRC DFs

Christmas Pud Foot DF 2003
In Tegg's Nose Country Park once again. Organised by Chris Plummer, helped as usual by Clive.

Christmas Pud Foot DF 2002
Organised by Chris Plummer, who hid his this time, whilst Clive coordinated the start. In the usual location of Tegg's Nose Country Park.

Bicycle DF 2002
Report and pictures from the Bicycle DF in Dunham Massey on 14 July 2002, organised by John Jocys.

Christmas Pud Foot DF 2000
Following in the "foot" steps of the previous year's successful format, Chris Plummer organised the seasonal foot DF in Tegg's Nose Country Park.

Christmas Pud Foot DF 1999
The club hosted a Yuletide DF on Boxing Day (26/12/99) with a difference. Instead of being the usual "anywhere on the Landranger map" style, the event was held within the confines of Teggs Nose Country Park near Macclesfield. It was a foot-only DF to help burn off some of those seasonal calories (although a special concession was made for the over 50s). Read Chris Plummer's report.

Halloween DF 1999
Read Chris Plummer's report for this night event, held on 5/11/99.
